Dash and shoot through levels of enemies and traps. Find the portal to the next level, and try not to die!

In multiplayer, revive dead players by dashing into their ghosts.

When you take damage, time slows down, to help you get to safety. A green power-up will bring you to full health. If you're already healthy, it will boost your firepower, briefly.

Controls:

You can move, dash, and shoot. Dashing only makes you go faster, but that's pretty useful for quick attacks or retreats, or for diving for a nearby power-up when you're almost dead.

The game auto-detects what kinds of controls are available on your device. Fracas 3 supports couch-co-op for...

  • 4 keyboard/mouse players
  • 4 gamepad players
  • 4 touch-screen players

That's up 12 players total, in theory.

Settings & Difficulty:

You can change the game speed  in settings, which can make the game easier or harder. You can also adjust screen-shake and sound volume.

Level Editor:

This comes with the same level editor used to make all the "Original Flavor" levels. It supports keyboard/mouse, and touch-screens.

You can make and play your own levels, and you can share levels by exporting and importing data adventure files. Data is automatically stored in the browser's LocalStorage, if that's available, so it will persist even if you turn your device off.

History:

This really is the third "Fracas" game. The original Fracas was my first-ever JavaScript game, in good-old HTML 4, and it is still playable at https://plexode.com/fracas/. Fracas 2 used HTML5 2D canvas, and had some power-up and time-warp features, but the code is lost now. Bytes in the rain.
